WOAgri (World Organization for Agriculture) welcomes the nomination of Madame Lagarde as French Minister of Agriculture and Fishing.
Her sound knowledge of international life, her affirmed belief in our country’s assets and her eagerness to encourage the development of France and Europe in a world rich with opportunities, are important qualities that will help create the new international cooperation in the agricultural sector that we are hoping for:
We would like:
- to develop our agriculture’s great capacity and guarantee the construction of a new Common Agricultural Policy that will guarantee European independence.
- to improve the way we tackle our objectives regarding development aid and preservation of the environment within the framework of world governance, which will regulate the liberalization of exchange in an aim to support all farmers in the world.
- to create international project management tools, currently nonexistent, such as a reliable strategic model and a rating agency that can supply the information necessary to make joint international decisions.
This model, which WOAgri has been working on with its team of economists for more than a year, will be completed at the beginning of 2008 and the rating agency will be launched at the same time.
The different elements of WOAgri’s project will be presented during a conference in Washington D.C. on June 25th 2007, at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (CEIP) in the presence of numerous think tanks and economists, who have already manifested great interest in our work.
