A new vision for agriculture
momagri, movement for a world agricultural organization, is a think tank chaired by Christian Pèes.
It brings together, managers from the agricultural world and important people from external perspectives,
such as health, development, strategy and defense. Its objective is to promote regulation
of agricultural markets by creating new evaluation tools, such as economic models and indicators,
and by drawing up proposals for an agricultural and international food policy.

For momagri, the debate on the strategic choices for French agriculture is far from over

Momagri Editorial Board

At the publication of a recent report by the Economic Analysis Council on agriculture, “French agriculture – decision time”1, Christian Pèes, President of Momagri wanted to react to declinist analysis and proposals for changes to the CAP that are disconnected from economic reality and global food challenges. In addition to a letter detailing a critique of the report addressed to Agnes Benassy-Quéré, Deputy President of CAE, a press release was also issued.

This first exchange led to a second. Below we have published the CAE’s response to our analysis, as well as the second letter from Christian Pèes detailing the various arguments. Although this exchange has not yet lead to a contradictory debate, this dual exchange, that we make public here, is an opportunity for us to clarify our position on both the diagnosis and prognosis. This debate should nourish necessary reflection aimed at changing the CAP, and consequently break the deadlock that regularly feeds the discourse of the opponents to European integration.
